Industry is pleased to present the Binary Collection by American designer Benjamin Rollins Caldwell. Made entirely from motherboards, computer chips and outdated computer parts, the Binary Collection gives these obsolete objects new purpose by transforming them into elaborate, visually-constructed works of design.
With the Binary Collection, Caldwell explores how we live in a computer age, in which technological devices have become far more than simply finite objects.
“We have come to use these technologies to complete the most mundane, everyday tasks,” says Caldwell. “My objective was to make the viewer reflect upon our connection to this computer-driven world.”
Lady Gaga personally chose the Collection’s “Binary Chair” as the centerpiece of her ArtPop album campaign, using the work to communicate with her fans. “This chair is really indicative of what I want to say to this campaign,” said Gaga. “I am not just a musician, I am also a creative mind.”
